Chris Lowe, CSEC, TCM-EVM
Chris Lowe began working in the Event Management field in 1985 when he joined Expo '86 as an Event Coordinator in the On-Site Entertainment Department. Working at Expo '86 made him realize that he enjoyed the industry and with Jane Howard Baker started the highly successful Vancouver Comedy Festival in 1987.
1988 found him joining the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon where he coordinated their events, pledge programs, corporate campaign, merchandise program and special programs for the next five years. During that time he started Lowe & Associates offering full service special event production. In his consulting practice, he specializes in Event, Conference and Project Management.
Chris is the Founding President of the Canadian Special Events Society. He became nationally recognized as an Event Coordinator in 2001 and as an Event Manager in 2005 (One of only two in BC).
He is an evaluator of persons applying for National Certification as an "Event Coordinator (TCP-EVC)" and "Event Manager (TCM-EVM)" and has been an instructor at BCIT of the Event Planning course since 1996. He was also a judge for a number of years for the Canadian Event and Industry Awards.
In 2005 he was named a Director in the Center for Sport and Event Management (CSEM). CSEM is an education and training institute for the sport and event industry. The CSEM was established in response to the need for accessible and suitable education products in the growing industry surrounding the management of sport, event, and sponsorship
